Chapter 14
I couldn’t believe his b*tch had the audacity to call me.
“Come with me to Tempest Manor tonight. Grandpa wants to meet you.”
I said coldly, “It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to go to Tempest Manor.”
On the other end of the phone, Lucian remained silent for a few seconds before he assertively said, “We’re not divorced yet. It’s not your place to decide whether or not to go.”
Had it been any other time, I would have dismissed Lucian’s aristocratic tendencies as him being his usual domineering self, assuming the whole world should bow to his will. Yet Lucian eagerly called at that critical juncture when the atelier was in a predicament.
What was he trying to do? Was he trying to push me to my breaking point?
My profound affection over these past three years was indeed wasted, never having moved Lucian in the slightest.
For the sake of a mere Juliette, he actually sought to drive me to the brink of desperation.
I took a deep breath and asked directly, “If I accompany you to Tempest Manor, will that resolve the crisis at the atelier?”
“What crisis?” Lucian responded without a second thought. “Sure. As long as you come with me, I can handle any crisis for you. It’s settled, then. I’ll pick you up tonight.”
Lucian’s POV:
After I hung up the phone, my mood was better than I had anticipated.
Did Kathryn’s willingness to return to Tempest Pack with me suggest she still harbored feelings for me?
As my beta mentioned, women tend to get upset from time to time. All I needed to do was soothe her back into a good mood.
I dialed the intercom and coldly instructed, “Investigate any issues Lush Moon Atelier is facing. There’s no need to report back to me. Just resolve them directly.”
In the evening, I arrived punctually to pick up Kathryn back to the pack.
Kathryn’s expression was cold, and she remained silent. I wanted to say something to her, but the atmosphere was incredibly awkward. I was at a loss for words.

Even though I had clearly solved the issues with her atelier, why wasn’t she happy?
I wondered if she had already fallen for someone else.
The thought of this possibility agitated me even more. Unable to contain myself, I asked her, “Are you seeing another man?”
Kathryn’s smile faltered in an instant. She retorted, “So what if I am?”
My heart gave a violent jolt. Could she really have fallen in love with someone else?
No way! How could that be?
My wolf roared at her, but she, being human, was utterly oblivious.
“Lucian!” Grandma’s stern voice rang out, interrupting my fury.
It turned out that at some point, when she noticed that we were taking too long to come in, Grandma had personally come out to welcome us.
Grandma was the previous Luna of the pack. Since Kathryn wasn’t formally introduced to the pack, Grandma’s influence remained quite strong.
Chapter 14
I swallowed my anger and greeted my grandma aggrievedly, “Grandma…”
Grandma glared at me, then turned to Kathryn with a gentler gaze. “Kathryn, my sweetheart, come in quickly.”
With a genuine smile gracing her face, Kathryn approached Grandma.

For this reason, Grandma yearned more than anyone for Kathryn to provide me with an heir quickly. This would compensate for her human shortcomings and allow the wolf pack to accept her.
My family was so fond of Kathryn. They treated her so well, so why did Kathryn still choose to leave me?
